The dilemma of whether to be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond is a common one for graduates. Working in a large enterprise offers numerous benefits: substantial resources, a high profile, and ample opportunities for professional growth. However, it also comes with intense competition and the risk of feeling insignificant.
In contrast, a small enterprise provides a more intimate work environment, where one's contributions are more noticeable and there's a greater sense of belonging. Yet, the resources and exposure might be limited compared to larger corporations.
Personally, I prefer to be a big fish in a small pond. The sense of ownership and the ability to make a significant impact on the company's direction are more fulfilling to me than the prestige that comes with working for a well-known brand.
